Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management

A Brief Description

CHC62015 – Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations. These people work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards of management. They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation’s goals and strategic directions.

At this level, workers have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific role. This may include management of a specific programs or project, or broader management of a community-based organisation, early childhood education service, not-for-profit organisation or community centre.

Qualification Overview​

The Bradford Institute of Advanced Education is a specialist training provider with a training team of experienced community service professionals. Through this team of industry professionals you have the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised qualification CHC62015 – Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management. Successful candidates will need to complete 13 units of competency comprising 8 mandatory core and 5 elective units. Elective units have been chosen to meet industry requirements.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You will be asked to complete 13 subjects via online learning. You may also apply for Recognition of Prior Learning if you believe you already have the knowledge and skills relevant to a particular unit or units. An RPL application must be submitted at the time of enrolment and the onus is on the student to provide sufficient, current, valid and authentic evidence against each of the units. Where there are gaps in your evidence, a professional conversation with your assessor may provide additional evidence. Your assessor may also ask you to provide further evidence to substantiate your claim of competency in a particular unit/s.

Where gaps in evidence remain – that is that you cannot be considered competent on the evidence provided, gap training will be made available to you. For gap training, you will be provided with workbooks and given assessments to complete. It is possible that gap training might include practical assessments.

HOW LONG WILL MY COURSE TAKE?

This is a self-paced program so the time to complete depends on the rate of submission. It is anticipated the process will take up to 2 years and is mostly dependent on you completing the assessment so that your assessor can review it. We will move at your pace and support you to set achievable goals

WHO ARE MY TRAINERS?

Our team of industry professionals is led by David Bradford, a former QUT Lecturer, Director of Operational Training in the Department of Communities.

BIAE admin will be responsible for scheduling and negotiating training dates and delivery suitable to your workplace and/or personal situation. The Bradford Institute of Advanced Education will issue your qualification.

Note: Some roles may require a Minimum Qualification level. Candidates will receive support from an allocated trainer throughout their training. Candidates will be provided with direct contact details for their trainer.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no mandated entry requirements for the program.

VOCATIONAL PLACEMENT

This qualification does not involve a mandatory Vocational Placement. However, the units in this qualification may require additional work-based assessments. we strongly endorse and encourage you to take on volunteer work while studying This allows you to gain practical industry and workplace experience where you will be taught how to apply the lessons you learned during your training

PAYMENT PLAN OPTIONS

We understand that times can be tough, so we offer payment plans that can be negotiated with you via Pay Advantage or you can use HUMM EZIPAY. Applicants of a Pay Advantage payment plan will only receive certification when program payment is made in full.

We will not ask you to pay any more than $1500 in advance of any service provided.

SECURITY CHECKS

As you will be working with client groups who are vulnerable and at risk, you will almost certainly require police checks and working with children checks/disability checks. 

A National Police Check certificate will list any court outcomes that can be disclosed, along with pending charges. This includes any interstate matters. The certificate won’t include any restricted court outcomes, such as certain juvenile convictions. 

If you have a previous conviction, please discuss this with your course consultant to determine if it will impact your ability to secure volunteer work in the community services industry. 

FUNDING

South Australia (SA) Funding:
Eligible applicants may apply to study this qualification under South Australian Skills Funding. To be eligible for the special pricing associated with this funding, students must meet the eligibility criteria.

New South Wales (NSW) Smart and Skilled Funding:
We are approved to deliver several courses under Smart and Skilled funding in New South Wales. This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. Studying one of the courses in our wide range with the Bradford Institute of Advanced Education under this funding provides you with an opportunity to complete a full qualification for a much more affordable fee.
