User Choice Traineeships

We are an approved User Choice traineeship provider in the NT.  NT User Choice is a form of traineeship funding available to NT workers who meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligible students for NT User Choice must be:

  • an Australian citizen, permanent Australian resident or a New Zealand citizen who has resided in Australia for a minimum of six months and is a NT resident
  • at least 15 years of age, be identified as disengaged from school and have the skills and capabilities to undertake training and to actively engage in employment
  • an Australian visa holder who:
    • does not have work or study restrictions
    • has a valid visa for the duration of the apprenticeship / traineeship or training, allowing for the total volume of learning required to achieve the qualification, including supervised and unsupervised training and study
    • is not the primary provisional visa holder of a skilled, business innovation and investment, student, work or holiday visa identified on the Department of Home Affairs website.

Become a Case Worker

Diploma of Child Youth and Family Intervention Graduates, Did you know you now have the pre-requisite qualification to study the Graduate Certificate in Statutory Child Protection and become a Case Worker in the NT. The NT is the only state that does not require the Bachelors Degree to be a case worker. Students may be eligible to have their Diploma of Child Youth and Family Intervention funded. No interest payment plans are available for Graduate Certificate in Statutory Child Protection. There has never been a better time to get started! CHC40321 - Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention

CHC40321 – Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention reflects the role of those who work in youth and family intervention, including practice specialisations in residential and out of home care, family support and early intervention. Workers operate under a broad supervision framework and within clearly defined organisational guidelines, service plans and position specifications. Completing this course will qualify you to work in a range of different community settings.

CHC40421 - Certificate IV in Youth Work

CHC40421 – Certificate IV in Youth Work reflects the role of workers who develop and facilitate programs for young people through a range of community-based programs designed to address the social, behavioural, health, welfare, developmental and protection needs of young people. This work may be undertaken through employment in community, government and youth sector agencies and workers will be responsible for implementing policies and guidelines of the employing organisation, and largely self-directed with fairly autonomous decision-making capacity under the indirect supervision of a manager.

CHC52021 - Diploma of Community Services

CHC52021 – Diploma of Community Services reflects the role of community services workers involved in the delivery, management and coordination of person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities.
At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously within their scope of practice under broad directions from senior management.
Workers support people to make change in their lives to improve personal and social wellbeing and may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers. They may also undertake case management and program coordination.
